In spurts of organization madness (is that what they call nesting???) i've been trying to get Madelyn's room in order before she arrives....I have been to numerous consignment sales in the past 2 months looking for clothes, shoes and anything i think we need. Nobody told me that when you have a baby the second time around, your head plays jedi mind tricks on you and makes you want to buy everything new - in multiple quantities - even though the stuff from the first time is still in GREAT condition!
....So i've fought back the urges to buy a lot of the following things:
- Play pen -- I mean....i could use a new one. The one we do have is a pain to close/setup and is second hand.
- Swings - it would be nice to have multiple of these....just in case she's not the front to back swinger, we can always use the side to side .... you know what i mean?
- Bouncy seats - or any other activity seat that doesn't require me to bend down too far ... OR transport it to every other room in the house I might need it in.
- Wiper warmers .... need I go into details?
- Bottle warmers - again, for convenience I'd like to have one in our bedroom and in the kitchen....which also brings me to another impulse purchase I could make -- a little tiny fridge to go into our bedroom
Also .... i've gone through several iterations of crib sets and patterns to decorate her room. I've now settled on a pattern that has colors I didn't want in the first place - PINK. But heck, it does look cute. Lots of butterflies and flowers.
And I sure hope she does like pink her wardrobe is overflowing with clothing that we've either bought, or been given by friends....and majority of it is pink!
So, does crazy happen often during the second pregnancy?? because things i thought were frivolous before sure seem like necessities to me now (see FRIDGE idea) .... no, not crazy --- nesting!
